Badgr 2.0 updates Badgr 2.0 beta

Badgr 2.0 Form - Development

August 2nd, 2006

Note: There's a working demo of the badgr 2.0 construction kit click here...

To save you wondering when the new release of badgr will be available, i.e. when I've built the installer / code generator. I've decided to build code generator live on the blog... A bit different, but easier than me posting updates... This is also an interesting tactic to keep the development nice and visible, since the source won't be available until I've cleaned it up and released badgr 2.0.

can you Digg it? can you Digg it? is it del.icio.us? is it del.icio.us?

So… I’ll amalgamate the color selectors into a single block with input fields for the 5 frame colors (yep there are 5 colors) … The pattern would be 5 colour fields inline each with a color swatch to show their color visually, clicking the swatch should then show the color selector, clicking the swatch or another swatch will close / switch the color selector (to the other swatch) respectively…

The Frame sizing factors are too difficult to explain in a one liner, e.g. they effect the frame size as factors or multipliers of the previous frame factor, the canvas size or the square image. (See… makes about as much sense as, something that doesn’t make a lot of sense..)

So it’ll be easier to make the frame a visual component with a dummy image inside it, which responds to the factors being manipulated with sliders or field entry changes, since you’ll then be able to see exactly how your changes affect the frame… I should also interface with the frame color changes so that the whole thing is interactive…

Of course this makes things more complicated to build but the final result will be much cooler, and that my friend is what matters.

[...] I’m not posting much in the way of instructions, since I’m not going to support this until I’ve got the build form done, but as you can see it’s a little complex, and if you’re desperate to get it while it’s hot you can grab the badgr2.swf from here… [...]
