    Those are great articles, but be careful, they were written back in the Flex Builder 2 Alpha days. Some things have changed, and some of that code may not compile. For example, flash.utils.trace is gone. flash.util is now flash.utils, the flash.events.MouseEventType is no more. May be other similar things.

    Thanks for the heads-up Keith, I should have noted the time of publication on these notes, and scoured them for anomalies too.
